Quedan todas/os invitadas/os al primer seminario del Ciclo de Coloquios y Seminarios 2023 del IFLP, a realizarse el martes 4 de abril en horario especial a las 11hs.

El mismo estará a cargo del Dr. Jiri Horak, del Astronomical Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences, República Checa.

Su charla será sobre ¨High-frequency quasi-periodic oscillations and oscillations of accretion disks ”, y a continuación enviamos un breve resumen de la misma:

Accreting black holes and neutron stars show remarkable variability in their X-ray light curves. In this talk, we will concentrate on high-frequency variability and its possible theoretical explanations. Most of the attention will be devoted to models based on the orbital motion and oscillations of geometrically thin accretion disks. After a brief presentation of disk linear modes, we will discuss their nonlinear interactions and resonances.
